How rubbish removal works
A two-person team arrives with a van, carries your rubbish out, loads it and takes it to a licensed waste site. You don’t lift anything, and nothing is left on the road, so there’s no permit and no skip sitting outside.
You pay for the space you use in the van, from a single item to a full load. The team confirms the price when they see what’s there, so describe it as fully as you can when you call.
It suits rubbish that’s ready to go now: a garage or loft clear-out, old furniture, garden waste in bags, or the leftovers after a move. For waste that builds up over days, a skip is usually cheaper.

Use a licensed carrier
By law, you’re responsible for your waste even after it’s collected. If someone takes it cheaply and fly-tips it, and it’s traced back to you, you can be fined.
Every team we book is a registered waste carrier. Ask for the waste transfer note, which records what was taken and where it went.
Rubbish removal questions
- How much does rubbish removal cost?
- It goes by how much of the van you fill, and some items, like fridges and mattresses, cost extra. Call us with what needs clearing and we’ll give you a price.
- Is a man and van cheaper than a skip?
- For one load that’s ready now, often yes, once you count the permit a skip on the road would need. For waste that builds up over days, a skip is usually cheaper per load.
- Do they carry everything out?
- Yes. The team loads everything, including from upstairs or the back garden. Tell us about stairs or long carries when you book.
- Can I get rubbish removed today?
- Often, depending on where you are and how busy local teams are. Call early in the day for the best chance.
- Is the council’s bulky waste collection cheaper?
- For one or two items, usually. But councils limit how many items they take and you may wait a week or more. A man and van comes sooner and takes everything.
- Do I need to be there?
- Not always, if the rubbish is somewhere the team can reach and you’ve agreed what’s going. Most people are there to point things out.
