Privacy notice
What we collect when you use this website or book with us, why we need it, who we share it with and the rights you have.
Last updated 28 October 2026
1. Who we are
This website is run by Crestway Skip Hire (“we”, “us”), of 4 Blenheim Court, Peppercorn Close, Peterborough, PE1 2DU. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.
For anything about your personal information, email hello@crestwayskiphire.co.uk or call 0333 880 1030.
2. What we collect
When you call us to ask for a price or book, we collect what we need to quote, arrange and deliver the job:
- Your name and phone number, and your email address if you give it
- The delivery address and where the skip or collection will go
- Details of the job: the size or service, the type of waste, dates and access notes
- Whether the skip needs to go on the road, so a council permit can be arranged
- Records of what was collected and where it went, which the law requires for waste
- Notes of any complaints or problems, so we can put them right
If you pay by card over the phone, the payment is handled by a payment provider. We don’t keep your full card details.
If calls are recorded for training or quality, you’ll be told at the start of the call.
3. Using this website
You can use this website without telling us who you are. The postcode search runs in your browser: the postcode you type is matched on your own device and isn’t sent to us.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, pages requested and the browser used, to keep the site running and secure. These are kept for a short time and aren’t used to identify you.
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It sets _ga cookies, kept for up to 2 years, and Google processes the data for us. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set until you accept, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the foot of every page. The only other cookie remembers your choice.
4. How we use it, and our legal basis
- To give you a price and arrange your booking, because you’ve asked us to (contract, or steps before one)
- To pass the job to the licensed local company that delivers it (contract)
- To apply for a council permit when the skip goes on the road (contract)
- To keep waste transfer records and accounts as the law requires (legal obligation)
- To deal with complaints, damage or disputes, and to improve our service (legitimate interests)
- To contact you about your booking, such as delivery and collection times (contract)
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t send marketing unless you’ve asked us to.
5. Who we share it with
We only share what each one needs to do their part:
- The licensed local skip or waste company that delivers, collects and disposes of the waste
- Your council, when a road permit is needed
- Our payment provider, to take payment
- Companies that provide our phone, email, hosting and IT systems
- Professional advisers, insurers, and the police, regulators or courts where the law requires it
Some of our IT providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires.
6. How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: six years after the job, for tax and legal claims
- Waste transfer records: at least two years, as the law requires
- Notes of a price enquiry that didn’t lead to a booking: up to one year
- Server logs: a short period, usually a few weeks
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- Ask us to delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it
- Ask us to restrict or stop using it in some cases
- Object to us using it for our legitimate interests
- Ask for information you gave us in a format you can take elsewhere
To use any of these rights, email hello@crestwayskiphire.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
8. Changes to this notice
We’ll update this notice when how we use your information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
